Security Impact:

Yes: This change will be to modify our internet edge firewalls to only allow incoming connections to be initiated from IP addresses in the US, Canada, and Mexico. A result of this will be that other countries will not be able to access TMC websites, VPN's, MDM, or other internet accessible applications

Reason & Description of Change:

The reason for this change is to attempt to reduce the attack potential from foreign countries. Recent malicious attacks from Nigeria, Russia, and Dubai have highlighted the need to tighten our permitted IP ranges.

Technical Change Description:

Modify incoming rules at ASA1 and DR-ASA1. Currently any IP can access our internet facing content. This change will be to remove the 'any' statement and replace it with an object group containing the IP addresses assigned by IANA to the US, Canada, and Mexico.

Testing Done:

The testing done is relative to other firewall ACL restrictions. We will be monitoring Firewall performance closely as there is potential to affect rule processing time with this change.

Customer Impact:

Customers visiting other countries will not be able to get to Access.TMCAZ.com while they are outside of North America.

Backout Procedure:

Remove the new object groups and replace with 'any' statement.
